Re-elect! Peel District School Board Trustee, Mississauga Wards 6&11
Jill is a public school Trustee, community volunteer, and mother of three raising her family here in Mississauga. She founded For Jude, For Everyone, an organization to promote flu and illness prevention, after the loss of her son in 2016. She has fought for better resources to reduce illness in our communities and protect our families, schools, workplaces, and healthcare system. In her role as Trustee, she advocates for safe, welcoming, and well-maintained schools to provide a supportive learning environment for all Peel students and staff. She works in Mississauga’s food bank system, where 28% of our city’s visitors are children.
Jill previously worked for RBC in Toronto and taught ESL in South Korea before managing her own business. She holds a BA in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as credentials in Governance & Ethics (UTM) and Crisis Communications (University of Victoria). Jill grew up in Bruce County and has called Mississauga home for over 15 years.
With two children in PDSB schools, Jill sees how underfunding the services we all rely on is putting our families and communities at a disadvantage. She believes governance should be both practical and compassionate and wants a system that will give all our kids the solid ground of a great education to stand on. Jill has fought tirelessly for years for her kids and all kids in our community, and will keep fighting for the world-class education system that opened every door for her and our children deserve today.

After months of advocacy, trustees are on the ballot this October. This is the victory of everyone who reached out to their local MPPs and the Premier to protect local voice in schools. Thank you! Your voice matters in Ontario, and it matters in our local schools. The role of trustee has changed as a result of this government’s Bill 101, reducing local voice, accountability, and transparency at all school boards in the province. Going forward it will be vital that trustees with strong voices and an understanding of the system continue to fight for all our kids.April 1st, 2026 – Delegating to Mississauga City Council regarding Councillor Brad Butt’s motion (seconded by Sue McFadden) for the City to advocate to the provincial government in support of public trustees. Thank you to our mayor and all 11 councillors for your unanimous support! I have been fortunate to have great working relationships with both of my shared ward councillors and many others on countless occasions, working together on concerns like traffic safety and to bring a new track and field to The Woodlands. I have also delegated to Council regarding traffic safety in local road and major road school zones, and have appreciated the support of council in prioritizing traffic safety in these spaces following the province’s removal of speed cameras.March 23rd, 2026 – Speaking to parents and educators at Ontario Autism Coalition’s Queen’s Park rally to protect public education. Last year PDSB was underfunded by the province for special education alone by $45 million, requiring us to take $45 million from other spending priorities to help support our most vulnerable students. Under Ministry supervision, PDSB’s supervisor has further cut special education supports by 23% for the 2026-27 school year. This doesn’t work for anyone and all our kids deserve better. As trustee, I receive the most calls from parents of students with additional needs. Every kid deserves the support and resources they need to thrive, and our teachers and education workers should have the supports and resources they need to help our kids learn and have a great day at school. June 27th, 2024 – Addressing Woodlands graduates. Most of our work happens at the Central Board Office, but some of the best days are when we get to visit our schools and see our PDSB students learning in action. And some of the very best days are when we get to celebrate their accomplishments. Graduations, plays, competitions, science fairs, cross country meets, concerts – all of it. What a joy to see all the kids in our community accomplish these big things!August 27th, 2019 – Delegating to the Peel District School Board, advocating for improved illness prevention communications throughout our local school system. Two-year-old Jude died on May 6th, 2016 after an outbreak of influenza B swept through his big sister’s kindergarten class. After attempts to improve communications working through our local school fell short, advocating to the Board of Trustees brought resolution and unanimous support for improvement. Continued advocacy to the Director and communications staff resulted in communications to parents to help prevent illness in classrooms. As an elected trustee I have continued to successfully advocate to staff for improved illness prevention communications and have been grateful for their support.
